is this extra rib create any problem ?
The presence of a cervical rib can cause a form of “thoracic outlet syndrome(TOS)” due to compression of the lower trunk of the brachial plexus or subclavian artery.
Compression of the brachial plexus may be identified by weakness of the muscles around the muscles in the hand, near the base of the thumb.
Yes it create many problem like some time chest infection , sometime pain in neck and upper arm(mostly left side).
How to cure it ?
Mostly cure will by conservative measures such as medications, rest, chiropractic, physical therapy, occupational therapy , and massage, stretching. only some of patients proceed to surgery
